A Literary Festival which students not knelt down.

Janasansadaya 20 the Literary festival was held in the Mihilaka Madura of the Bandaranayaka Memorial International Conference Hall on 2011.09.18 at 10 am to 1pm. There were about 350 participants including school students, parents, artists, torture victims and Janasansadaya members and activists from all most all parts of the country. It was held in Sinhala medium with Tamil translations. The first lecture was given by Ms. Soma Padmakanthan and the second lecture was given by Mr.Piyal Kariyavasam. There is a page called AKUNA whish has published in Dinamina newspaper every Friday. One of the writers of this article named Prabuddi Ranasinha spoke about this page at the festival. After that the book AKUNA launch was held. Mr. Chandraguptha Thenuvara addressed the audience about
this AKUNA book.

Twenty six winners of the short story competition and essay competition which were held both Sinhala and English medium received cash awards, books and certificates. The winners specially the school children not knelt down before
the guests when they received their awards as a public request made by the Janasansadaya from the audience. The winners view regarding the festival was a charming one.
