Having vowed to continue with the war until he defeats the LTTE, President Rajapaksa recently told the LTTE to “catch him” personally than targeting the civilians.

“You cannot resolve the Tamil ethnic issue by killing the president or innocent civilians,” Mr. Nadesan (Head of LTTE political wing) told BBCSinhala.com.

Nadesan’s reply is very good whatever the intention was. There is a maturity in that reply. Sometimes imposible to expect from a kottiya (tiger). Although it is difficult to bear, we as Sinhala Buddhist have something to learn from that diplomatic saying.
